I'm baaaaack! MUA Sydney Selections

So kiddies, I've been busy the last year with life in general but here I am again, come out of hibernation at the height of Miss Universe Australia season!

I received a request from the oh-so-fabulous Deborah Miller to assist in the selection of the Sydney finalists and being the generous and helpful person that I am I said yes *wink*

The Sydney selections was a closed event and on the panel were myself, Deborah Miller, MUA Coordinator Paris Ogden and Channel 7 personality Matty Samaei.

Our job was to find the best 10 girls out of a group of 25 who would then go on to compete against the rest of NSW two weeks later. Each girl came in and had a short interview witht the panel before coming out in swimwear and evening gown.

There were a few quality girls that immediately caught my attention:

Back again for a second go at the crown is Christiana Fischer. This girl has come back stronger than ever. She now looks the part and has excelled in her styling. Christiana looks more polished this year and is in it to win it. Her body is amazing, she had extensions put in her hair and is armed with some amazing gowns (Ruth Tarvydas and Escada Couture). Christiana has always excelled in interview so watch out for this girl. Amongst amazons, she is the dark horse. Speaking of horses, she's now a qualified Equine Soft Tissue Therapist. If ever youre looking for a horse masseuse, Christiana's the girl for you.

Courtney Wells. Wow. Courtney walked into the room and immediately we all saw a professional model. Sure enough Courtney has graced the runways of New York and Milan (her sister is also a model with Wilhelminas and is based in New York). Courtney has deferred her studies to become a teacher and pursue her dream of modelling. In her own words "make hay while the sun shines". The tallest of all the girls she is hands down the best on the runway and works the floor like a pro. Courtney has piercing eyes and has a soft disposition. She came across as quite nervous but if she just ups the confidence Courtney will do well in the national finals.

Tegan Martin. Hailing from Newcastle, Tegan enters the room and fills it with sunshine. Tegan works as an apprentice hairdresser and wants to be a model. She has a beautiful smile. The girl has X Factor. She walked into the room and reminded me of an early Jesinta Campbell. However, I do believe that Tegan needs a little more time to grow into a beauty queen. She has the makings of one but I think it's a tad too early. She needs more time in front of the camera and get to know herself and her body a little better. Definitely a blonde Jesinta.

Alissa Smith. Alissa Smith is an interesting character with an amazing story. This girl is a walking example of victory from adversity. Alissa has a dazzling smile and reminds me of Lauren Eagle. Alissa is a producer for Channel 1o News and is a real go getter. Very sweet and bubbly her outgoing personality belies a dark history. Alissa survived a horrendous car crash a couple of years ago, barely surviving. Doctors said she would never walk and talk again but with her belief in herself she has overcome this and is now back to normal. Many girls strive to be an inspiration to others. This girl IS. If she advances to the finals, she will have a powerful story to tell that will change the lives of many. I am blessed to have my life touched by this angel.

Clare Parker and Miffy (forgot her last name) The faces of the competition. Beautiful doll-like faces. ......Im sorry I cant write a lot about them because I really dont remember much about them except that they were exceptionally beautiful. And I think this is a good thing! In other words, they have faces that will render men speechless. Miffy was quite cute actually and was very open to feedback. Bless.
